HISTORIC WALKING TOURS
First Saturday of each month – 10 AM to 11 AM
A guided tour of points of historical and legendary significance to Henderson’s history. This tour starts within The Community Room at The Depot and continues throughout historic downtown Henderson. Learn about the architecture and history of some of Henderson’s most beautiful homes and businesses. Tour guides vary each month – with different stories and insights. This walking tour is fairly level and wheelchair accessible.
Starts at The Depot, Starts at 10am, approximately 1 hour, free.
JULY: RIVER HERITAGE DAY
Come Down to the River
SATURDAY, JULY 18 — 10 AM to 2 PM
This annual event is held in Audubon Mill Park on the beautiful Ohio River. New events added each year for young and old alike. Kids can learn to cast, compete in casting competitions and enter a free fishing tournament. All ages will enjoy moseying down to the river to cheer on their favorite tow boat captains in the first annual Ohio River — Mile 802 Tow Boat Race. In the park, join a professional storyteller as she weaves tales of people on the river, operate a working lock and dam system, see wildlife, learn water and electrical safety.

JULY: DINNER ON THE RIVERFRONT
SATURDAY, JULY 18, 2015 — 5 PM to 8 PM
Enjoy a relaxing dinner on the riverfront at OnDeck Riverside Bar and Grill. All-you-can-eat menu includes fried fish fillets, smoked chicken jambalaya, hush puppies, slaw and beans. Proceeds from this dinner benefit Children’s Advocacy Center and River Heritage Day events.
OnDeck Riverside Bar and Grill, Tickets $12.00 ($6.00 for children 12 and under) on sale at the Depot.
AUGUST: FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL
SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2015 — 10 AM to 4 PM
The Depot Community Room Teams up with Downtown Henderson Partnership to host the Folklife Festival during the Bluegrass in the Park Festival. This community event, held in Audubon Mill Park, features a host of food makers, artists and other educational exhibits about folklife traditions in western Kentucky. In the past exhibits have included antique bicycles, llama shearing, soap making, beeswax candles and much more.

SEPTEMBER: FERNWOOD CEMETERY TOUR
SATURDAY,SEPTEMBER 12, 2015, 3 PM & 4:30 PM
Guided walking tour through Henderson’s oldest cemetery, with local actors portraying some of our most interesting citizens of Henderson who now reside in Fernwood. Fast becoming one of our most popular tours!
Starts at Fernwood Cemetery, Madison Street, tours begin at 3pm and 4:30pm, cost Adults $10, Students $5.
OCTOBER: SPOOKS AND LEGENDS TOUR
OCTOBER 24, 2015, 2 PM and 4 PM
Guided tour throughout downtown Henderson highlighting historical facts and legends of Henderson’s past. Actors bring stories to life, giving you an up-close and personal perspective of some of Henderson’s famous and infamous citizens. Our most popular tour!
Starts at The Depot, two tours begin at 2pm and 4pm, cost $5.00.
